Arack is a metal base frame or support whose mission is to house electronic equipment, computer systems and telecommunication networks. The measures, are standarized to be compatible with any equipment regardless the manufacturer. They are also known as cabinets, computer cabinets or comunication racks.

Usually have removable glass or metal side doors, there are models of floor and wall , and offer a variety of accessories to facilitate subsequent installation of equipment: trays, panels, cable guides, patch panels, wiring distribution rings, power strips, ventilation units to help cooling of equipment, etc.

They are divided into several product ranges, depending on use and height (the height of the racks is measured in a unit called U, which is equivalent to 44.45 mm, or 1.75 inches). Devices are designed to be installed in a rack should be a height that can be expressed as an integer multiple of a U.

THE MONOLTYHS CABINETS ARE ESPECIALLY SUITABLE FOR INDOOR INSTALLATIONS

THEY ARE MADE OF STEEL GRADE SPCC WITH PROTECTION AGAINST DUST INGRESS

TThe wall cabinets or wall racks are available from 6U to 18U in case Monolyth, floor and rack cabinets, with availability in sizes ranging from 22U to the 47U high (possibly the most used is the 42U). There may also be variations in the width of the floor cabinets (600 or 800 mm.) and in the background that ranges from 600 to 1000 mm. (in our case).

The rack cabinets have also varying degrees of protection to the place where they are to be installed. The degree of protection is IP20 for Monolyth (the Ingress protection refers to the international standard IEC 60529 Degrees of Protection used in the technical data of electrical and electronic equipment), the most suitable for indoor installations with protection against ingress of dust, and are made of steel grade SPCC.

ALL EQUIPMENT TO BE INSTALLED ON A HORIZONTAL RAIL SLIDES KNOWN AS PROFILE RACK.

Mainly used in places that need to accommodate a large number of devices, such as data processing centers and enterprises, and where space is limited and needs to be optimized. Normally, to install servers standard size that fit the 19 “rack, but can vary in level 1, 2, 3, 4U or more switches, and patch panels and wiring an office or company that needs to be centralized and distributed in an orderly and controlled way.

All equipment to be installed on a horizontal rail slides and fixed with screws on the side, known as profile rack.

We also have trays and supports in order to support other less standardized devices such as monitors, keyboards or other types of systems of larger volume and weight.

Assemble a rack is an operation that requires time, accuracy, proper tools, a space sufficiently large (greater as larger the dimensions the cabinet) and especially  trained staff.
